Thanks to technological advancements, you don’t have to go to school to learn programming! Plenty of people have learned coding at home.

So, I decided to learn HTML over other specific languages like CSS, JavaScript, and Watson API because it is the basis. HTML is a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) for creating web pages and web applications. I would say that HTML as the skeleton that gives every webpage structure.

Codecademy makes learning FUN and REWARDING using interactive tutorials. Furthermore, courses are FREE and ACCESSIBLE through mobile apps.

This week I finished my first lesson and received some rewards at the end as a motivation. The lesson covered the basics of HTML where I learned how to add paragraphs, headings, images and links to a webpage. I really enjoyed it.

I would say Codecademy is definitely one of the best learn-to-program sites. It is constantly updating it and developing the lesson plans!

However, I would also mention that Codecademy is more about teaching vocabulary, but not teaching grammar. It teaches you the words in the language, but not how to actually use them. The program does not teach you how to write code outside their web app.

Yes, there are tons of other resources out there, but Codecademy is a good STARTING POINT!

I believe that coding is one of the best mind exercises. Sometimes it is frustrating, but when you solve that problem, it is the best feeling in the world.
