First 3 weeks of daily blogging

If someone had told me that I would be writing blogs daily a year ago, it would seem like a bad joke to me. Never have I ever even enjoyed writing anything at all until this past year.

After the year 2020, my perspective on life changed drastically. I started to develop parts of myself that were never put into practice. I never had so much time to focus on myself as much as I did last year. Due to the excessive isolation of quarantine, my social life decreased exponentially as well, so I needed some way to describe my perceptions of every thought I imagined or made.

The first and second blogs felt kind of forced, but as soon as a week passed, it felt almost natural to finish the day writing anything that came to my mind. Writing about topics is a great way to develop parts of your brain that you did not know existed.

First of all, English is not my first language; it is Spanish. At first, I tried to write in Spanish as my native language, but soon I realized my way of thinking and seeing the world was in English. I was actually impressed with myself because the way I wrote in my second language was fantastically ten times way easier than in my native language.

I was blessed with a fantastic education both in school and at home. I grew up almost as an only child until my little sister was born, so my mom invested my first 8 years of life in making sure I had the best education possible at least in learning a language. Nowadays, I am glad to say that everything both my mother and father did for me worked. Also, I am currently in the process of learning German, and every day is getting easier on the journey.

I usually take around two hours to complete my blogs. If I really aspired to write every day, I had to make a lot of arrangements in my daily routine. In the early stages, it felt like I had a million tasks per day. With time, I started replacing bad habits I had with better alternatives and it felt easier even to add more tasks to my days.

With the change in my daily routine and the addition of newer activities, I started to develop a lot of changes. Both my mental and physical health enhanced. Also, bad habits like procrastination began to slowly vanish from the day. Social Media and video games soon stopped being my daily struggle to leave alone.

With the massive progressions I was making with my life, I felt way more mature and yet independent. Qualities that I did not have before started to grow in me. It got to the point where I was able to establish more genuine conversations with personalities of all ages on both prosperous and complex topics. Another improvement I’ve noticed throughout these 21 days, is that now I am able to finish my blogs twice as fast as before, with better content and facility in its process.

The amount of words I have been writing per day has been amazing. Impressed by my achievements, I can now consider myself an amateur writer to this point. I could even teach other beginners the progress and changes needed to develop a successful blogging hobby in a really short time.

Besides creating a new routine and replacing my daily procrastination with much more supportive activities, there is one more thing you will need to achieve the desired goal of daily writing. The thing is Discipline.

Besides having conquered both the abilities of discipline and consistent work, one thing I have learned these past 3 weeks is moderation. Without applying moderation to my life, it would have never been possible to achieve my writing goals. Everything done in excess can be detrimental to your future progress. Establish limits on yourself and take the time to enjoy every second spent on whatever you appreciate doing.

Another thing I started to learn during my days in quarantine was programming languages involving the area of web development. Somehow I managed to learn how to create a functional and well design site without any complications. This was another fundamental factor that helped me propose to start writing blogs every day. The principal reason for starting this journey was to document my thoughts to other people that thought the same as me. To be able to share my various ideas with people who maybe needed help, or are in necessity of motivation to improve themselves and move forward in life.

Overall this will be considered my 21st blog for the moment. This has not been only a personal achievement, but also an experience that will serve me in the future. Who knows, maybe in two or even five years I may be celebrating my blog number three thousand on a website made by myself! I plan to maintain consistency, discipline, and most importantly enjoy what I like the most with a well-implemented moderation.
