Poem for my ex husband

take me back to the night we met

in a vapid apartment

when you offered me your help

but I was too proud to answer

you confessed to me later

that you found me reckless

or was it that other night

when I managed to find you

After we cross paths in a staircase

I remember thinking you were

The most beautiful man on Earth

(and it is still the case)

Or maybe THAT night,

The first time you kissed me

As if everything in life could be

As simple…

I had the feeling of a coincidence

A wonderful first chance

Take me back to the night we met

In a spartan vehicle

It was a warm night

Halfway around the world

I asked you to marry me

And, even crazier, you said yes

Another night finally,

We had gathered all your friends, our families

To celebrate together

Our love

And we smiled, and we danced

And that night had last since

Take me back to all the night we met,

So I keep them in my heart

So that i can sing them

And that they warm my soul

Never to forget them
