Clean Eating

By Ana Paula Sánchez Ruiz

Now, what does it mean to eat clean? It means that the food you are about to eat should be as close as possible to its natural state. “Clean eating” is a lot like healing your body because it eliminates what is simply not good for you; also, it decreases inflammation, lowers acidity, helps to have better control of your blood sugar and promotes healthy skin.

Furthermore, clean eating means ingesting fresh plant-based food filled with nutrients, such as vegetables, fruits, good fats and, if you decide to include animal protein, make sure it is organic and high-quality. Remember: clean eating is about creating balance as well as choosing the right kinds of foods.

Finally, clean eating will mostly benefit people who suffer from constipation, chronic inflammation, autoimmune diseases, skin-health problems, among others. So make sure to make the right choices when it comes to your diet, because, as Cervantes wrote in his famous Don Quixote of La Mancha: “Dine sparingly and sup more sparingly still; for the health of the whole body is forged in the workshop of the stomach.”
