My Friend Released a New Song

A few weeks ago I was asked whether I had ever filmed, directed, or even edited a music video.I said I hadn’t.

I was offered the job anyway!

The long story short is that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with singer/songwriter David Paterson and the Band on this project and I very much appreciate the trust shown in me by enabling me to create a video which supplements a great track written and performed by Dave. As well as this music video I’ve also been involved with the following projects over the last 6 months:

Solace — The brief was to help this refugee charity create a number of portrait style videos for their website and to be able send these videos out via WhatsApp and other similar platforms. A portion of these videos focused on helping refugees (mainly women) understand PTSD and other stress related issues. The other portion of videos were a collection of relaxation techniques. Not only did I have to record these videos in English but I also recorded them in Arabic and also Farsi. Some of the English videos were dubbed over, others were recorded as audio. These videos are yet to be published and I understand there is strong interest in these videos from similar organisations to Solace and UK Government departments such as the Home Office.

Thinking Faith Network — The brief was to record 6 short videos (along with 6 accompanying ‘explanation videos’ ) using 2 actors and a green screen in a number of different scenarios. In each scenario the actors played characters exploring 6 main world views. These videos are to be made available to schools in religious education lessons to help provide a resource for the teachers teaching in this area.

Precision Pest — The brief was, and continues to be, to create a quarterly video ‘newsletter’ featuring the owner speaking a piece to camera, to be sent to all staff as well as create a series of training videos made available to all staff on how to use and clean their many different types of equipment and machinery.

There is an Answer — This is a Christian project with the ongoing brief to create many testimonial videos where the interviewees faith journey is recorded. This includes prompting the person being interviewed with questions to encourage more shared detail. These videos are then edited down to a short video and uploaded to their website for others to view. The brief also includes Christian teaching around the different subject matters that the testimonials focus on.
