While You Are Praying

Just to help you understand what is going on in the scripture above, “I” is referring to God, and “they” refers to those who obey and serve God. “And it shall come to pass …” What will you give to be in this position where you know that God is ready for your prayers, and you are confident of His answer coming to you speedily? If not for anything, our verse for today shows us how eager God is and wants to respond to your prayers and give you His full attention.

God is not a liar, and you need to understand that what He said, is what He wants to and will do. There was no gun to His head to cause Him to say something He did not mean. His integrity and the consistency of His nature throughout both spiritual and physical realities cannot be comprehended by our minds. What are we saying? God really means to answer you even before you call on Him.

Should God answer before we call on Him, does that not imply we will end up not praying at all? No wonder, God in His infinite wisdom, at the very least, did not tell us on which count of our call He was going to answer. Also remember that He said, ‘while they are still speaking,’ to tell us that He expects us to be praying continually.

As we said from the beginning, this promise in our opening verse is to those who are in the habit of faithfully obeying and willingly serving God. Those who have seen the error of their ways and have heeded the voice of God that calls out for sincere repentance. Those who acknowledged the opened arms of Christ and ran into it to find mercy and be covered in His righteousness. What decision do you have to make today to join this “they” group that God talks about?
